Our first collection! There were a few favorites from our first cohesive line, but this was the one that just so happened to strike the interest of none other than...
SNOOP DOGG!!! This was a special day in the beginning stages of SHAGBAGG. My sister, Georgette Angelos, was interning at Snoop Dogg's offices in 2011, and her and I both loved the idea of gifting Snoop's wife, "Boss Lady," a BAGG.
Georgette left the BAGG in trusted hands, and about a week later, my sister watched Snoop Dogg walk into a meeting carrying the BAGG she had left for "Boss Lady," Shante Broadus. Once the meeting was over, Georgette confronted Snoop saying, "Do you like the present I gave you?" and he replied, "Oh, this was you?" After Georgette explained it was her sister's brand, Snoop told her to tell me, "this bag is the sh*t," and proceeded to hold the bag up and asked for a picture. We love you, SNOOP!!! (We eventually were able to gift "Boss Lady" a BAGG...)
BOOTH LIFE! Our first pop up in Tokyo:
The SHAGBomb Jackets! Our first line of apparel is released in 2016.
SHAGBAGG shortly launched more colors after the success of the SHAGBomb Jackets, which were only featured in Cream, Plum, and Midnight. With the new colors set to launch on June 5, 2017, I not long after realized this release date was the same day as The Beatles's Sgt. Pepper's 50th Anniversary--and the colors even matched the jackets on the album cover! It was meant to be. A fun time was had for all while dancing to live music by Bepopalula in our pop up on Abbot Kinney Blvd.
We had the opportunity vend at Coachella while simultaneously launching our new line of SHAGKini Tops, Halters, and Shorts. Performers in 2018 included Beyoncé, War on Drugs, David Byrne, Odesza, Cardi B., and more.
SHAGBAGG gives back with a line of philanthropy totes that donates a bag of groceries for every bag sold.
As our brand grows, we'll continue to give you products that give you that SHAGGY level of funk you love, but we'll also innovate with updated silhouettes and classy accents. Introducing SHAG Minimale, a line of vests and outwear for a sophisticated feel while also giving you your ultimate fashion sensory experience.
